On 25 October, Lee along with Michael Paine, attended a meeting of the American Civil Liberties Union. And at some point a speaker mentioned Maj. Gen. Edwin A.Walker at witch point Lee arose and stated that a "night or two nights before" he had attended a meeting in witch Walker had spoken, and Lee felt that Walker was both anti-Catholic and anti-Semitic.

On 23 October, Gen. Walker had spoken at a rally in Dallas, and in testimony before the Warren Commission Walker stated that prior to 22 November, he did not and had never heard of Lee Oswald.

On 24 October, United Nations Day, Adlai Stevenson U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Spoke in Dallas and was heckled, harassed and spit on by an angry crowd.

In a letter Oswald wrote to Arnold Johnson, director of the information and lecture bureau of the Communist Party, Oswald stated, I had attended a ultra-right meeting headed by General Edwin A. Walker, who lives in Dallas. This meeting preceded by one day the attack on A. E. Stevenson at the United Nations Day meeting at which he spoke. As you can see, political friction between left and right is very great here.

On 1 November, Lee opened a post office box in the Dallas post office Terminal Annex.

He would list the FPCC and the ACLU as being eligible to receive mail at this box.

Coincidentally somebody else open a post office box in that same office.

On November 7, 1963, Jack Ruby rented post office box No. 5475 because he hoped to receive mail responses to advertisements for the twist-board exercise device, which he was then promoting. Although it is conceivable that Oswald and Ruby coincidentally encountered one another while checking their boxes, the different daily schedules of the two men render even this possibility unlikely. Moreover, Oswald's withdrawn personality makes it improbable that the two would have spoken if their paths had crossed.

After the assassination Oswald’s post office box went under surveillance until 24 November. The only mail found in this box was one Russian magazine addressed to Oswald.

And by 1 November 1963, A Dallas FBI agent was about to begin his search for Lee Oswald.
